Where a Moroccan store actually loses money
In a neighbourhood hardware store or a building materials yard, losses rarely come from one big theft. They come from small daily leaks: a box of screws sold without leaving the stock, a bag of cement sold at the old purchase price after the supplier raised it, a trade customer asking for an invoice with their ICE number three weeks later, rewritten by hand with a VAT mistake.
A notebook or an Excel file works while the owner is alone behind the counter. As soon as a salesperson or a family member takes over, nobody really knows how many 40 mm PVC pipes are left, or what the real cost of an item bought three times at three different prices is.
- Stock-outs discovered with the customer already waiting
- Selling prices based on an outdated purchase price
- Invoices for trade customers rewritten by hand
- Cash differences nobody can explain at closing time
- A back room and an outside warehouse that never agree
Accurate stock, item by item and warehouse by warehouse
SOGESTIO tracks every item in every location: the shop floor, the back room, the warehouse on the edge of town. Every customer delivery and every supplier receipt updates the stock, and transfers between warehouses are recorded as movements rather than manual corrections. A minimum-stock alert flags items to reorder before you run out.
Stock is valued at weighted average cost (CMUP). Example: you hold 100 bags of cement bought at 70 DH and receive 50 more at 76 DH. The average cost becomes (7,000 + 3,800) / 150 = 72 DH, and that figure, not the last known price, drives your real margin. Serial numbers and batches can be tracked for tools and appliances, and a full stock count lets you reset quantities whenever needed.

The right document for walk-in and trade customers
A walk-in customer leaves with a receipt; a builder or a company gets an invoice carrying their ICE number. SOGESTIO issues both from the same item, with your logo, company name, ICE, IF, RC, business tax number and bank details (RIB). Numbering is assigned by the server, per document type and per year, so there are no gaps or duplicates when two people invoice at the same time.
Example: a craftsman buys equipment worth 2,500 DH excluding VAT. At 20 % VAT, the invoice shows 500 DH of VAT and 3,000 DH including VAT, calculated line by line by the server. Price lists let you apply a trade price to professionals and a public price at the counter, and documents are generated in French, Arabic or English.
Cash box and store expenses under control
The Expenses & cash module records the day's cash in and cash out: cash sales, small supply purchases, an advance to an employee. Expenses are classified by category with their deductible VAT, and expense reports are entered in the same place. At closing time the expected cash balance is known, so any difference shows up immediately.
Moroccan payment methods are built in: cash, bank transfer, cheque, card and direct debit. A customer paying in two instalments is recorded as two payments against the same invoice.
Knowing which products really make money
The dashboard shows revenue, margin, unpaid invoices and items below their stock threshold. Reports break down revenue by month, top customers and top products with gross margin, and the average basket. Many shops discover that their best-selling item is not their most profitable one.
If you also sell online, Shopify and WooCommerce orders are imported automatically and draw from the same stock as the shop. Your catalogue can be imported from Excel or CSV so you do not have to retype it.
Which plan fits a retail business?
A shop run by one or two people starts with Starter at 199 DH per month excluding VAT (1,990 DH per year): sales and invoicing, stock, and expenses & cash for up to 2 users. When you want to track supplier orders and invoices, received cheques, your bank and your accounting, or your team grows, Pro at 449 DH per month excluding VAT (4,490 DH per year) covers up to 10 users. Prices exclude 20 % VAT.

Frequently asked questions
Does SOGESTIO replace a cash register?
No. SOGESTIO is not point-of-sale software or a cash register. It manages stock, receipts and invoices, the cash box from an accounting point of view, and margins. A high-volume store keeps its till hardware and uses SOGESTIO for management.
Can I manage my shop and my warehouse separately?
Yes. Each warehouse has its own stock, and transfers from the warehouse to the shop are recorded as movements. You always see the quantity available in each location and in total.
How is the cost price of my items calculated?
At weighted average cost (CMUP), recalculated at every receipt. If you buy the same item at different prices, the cost reflects the quantity-weighted average, which gives you a realistic margin.
Can my sales staff see purchase prices?
Access is set by role: owner, administrator, accountant, salesperson or a custom role. An audit log keeps track of who created or changed what, and when.
Can I use it from my phone in the store?
Yes. SOGESTIO runs in the browser and in the Android app with the same data, so you can check stock or prepare an invoice from the warehouse.
Can I import my items from Excel?
Yes, Excel and CSV import and export are built in. It is the fastest way to bring in an existing catalogue during the 14-day free trial.
