SOGESTIO

Accounting and management software for startups in Morocco: from first invoice to fundraising

SOGESTIO is a cloud ERP built in Morocco that follows a startup from its first invoice to its fundraising round: you start on the Starter plan at 199 DH/month excl. VAT, then add CGNC accounting, budgets, cash management and payroll by switching plans, with no migration. Investors and banks find well-kept books, and founders work out their burn rate and runway from up-to-date data.

Why keep your numbers in an ERP from the first customer

In the early months, a startup invoices from a document template, tracks spending in a spreadsheet and leaves the books to the accounting firm at year-end. Then comes the first funding round: the investor asks for an up-to-date income statement, the cash position, costs by line and employee contracts. Rebuilding all that in two weeks from scattered files costs time and credibility.

With SOGESTIO, every invoice, expense and payroll run produces its entry in the Moroccan chart of accounts (CGNC). On due-diligence day the data already exists, and your accountant works from a clean base.

  • Server-numbered invoices from the first customer
  • CGNC accounting entries generated automatically
  • Budget, actuals and a 13-week cash forecast
  • Team contracts, payroll and expense claims
  • API, webhooks and online stores connected

Which plan at which startup stage?

There is no need to pay up front for modules you do not need yet. Founders issuing their first invoices start on Starter. When the team grows and investors come in, Pro adds banking, accounting, budgets, HR and payroll. You can switch plans at any time, on the same account, with no migration and no re-entry.

Annual billing costs about 17% less than monthly, and the subscription is paid by bank transfer. The free 14-day trial needs no bank card, and data entered during the trial is kept.

Burn rate and runway: the numbers investors ask for

Burn rate measures what the startup consumes each month; runway is the number of months before cash runs out. Example: monthly costs of 180,000 DH (salaries, rent, hosting, marketing) against customer collections of 70,000 DH give a net burn of 110,000 DH. With 1,320,000 DH in the bank, runway is 12 months. If collections rise to 90,000 DH, net burn falls to 90,000 DH and runway stretches to about 14.7 months.

SOGESTIO provides the inputs without a separate spreadsheet: expenses by category, invoices and collections, bank balances reconciled from MT940 or CSV statements, and a 13-week cash forecast that includes customer receivables and supplier payables. The monthly budget per line, compared with actuals, shows where the burn is slipping: faster hiring than planned, a marketing campaign, hosting.

CGNC books that an investor or a bank can read

Entries are generated with every invoice, payment, purchase and payroll run. Journals, general ledger, trial balance and account matching are available, along with the Moroccan financial statements: balance sheet (Bilan), income statement (CPC) and management balances (ESG). Simple mode lets founders follow their numbers without jargon; advanced mode serves the accountant, who still signs off the accounts and tax returns.

For foreign investors or customers, the interface runs in English and quotes and invoices are generated in English, French or Arabic. Cost centres, by product or business line, give a result per axis, useful to show the economics of each revenue stream.

SaaS and online brands: recurring billing, API and integrations

A SaaS startup bills subscriptions: the recurring invoice is defined once, monthly, quarterly or yearly, and goes out at every due date with its own number. The customer portal gives each customer a private link to their invoices and quotes, which they can accept online.

To connect SOGESTIO to your product, the documented REST API (OpenAPI) works with API keys carrying read or write rights, and signed webhooks notify your systems. A D2C brand selling on Shopify or WooCommerce gets its orders imported automatically, and Excel or CSV import brings in customers, items and opening balances.

Hiring, paying and protecting the team

First hires often start with an internship or an ANAPEC contract before a permanent CDI. The HR module records these contracts and alerts you before a contract or probation period ends. Payroll produces payslips with CNSS, AMO, income tax (IR) and seniority and prepares the DAMANCOM file; each employee submits expense claims, which are approved, posted and marked as reimbursed. Check the rules of each contract type with a lawyer or your accountant.

Two-factor authentication through an authenticator app, role-based rights, the audit log and remote sign-out of a lost device protect your data, something investors look at too. When the startup becomes a holding company with subsidiaries, the Groupe plan handles three included companies, intra-group transactions and a consolidated view of revenue and cash.

Frequently asked questions

Can we start small and change plans later?

Yes. Starter at 199 DH/month excl. VAT is enough to invoice and track expenses. Moving to Pro or Groupe can happen at any time, on the same account, with no data migration.

Does SOGESTIO calculate burn rate and runway?

SOGESTIO provides the inputs: expenses, collections, bank balances and a 13-week cash forecast. Net burn is the month's costs minus its collections, and runway is cash divided by that net burn.

Are the accounts in the format expected in Morocco?

Entries follow the Moroccan chart of accounts (CGNC), and SOGESTIO produces the Bilan, CPC and ESG statements. Your accountant remains responsible for approving the accounts and filings.

Can we connect our SaaS product or online store?

Yes. The documented REST API (OpenAPI) works with keys carrying read or write rights, plus signed webhooks. Shopify and WooCommerce orders are imported automatically.

Our investors are abroad. Is the software available in English?

Yes. The interface is available in English, French and Arabic, and quotes and invoices are generated in all three languages.

How much does SOGESTIO cost for a startup?

Starter costs 199 DH/month, Pro 449 DH/month and Groupe 990 DH/month, all excl. VAT, with about 17% saved on annual billing. The free 14-day trial needs no bank card and no commitment.
