Dakhla: the sea, the lagoon, the greenhouses and the wind
More than a thousand kilometres from the major cities of the north, Dakhla has established itself as an Atlantic economic hub. Fishing plays a major role, led by octopus, which is widely exported, and the bay hosts shellfish farming, oysters and mussels. The irrigated areas of Oued Eddahab grow greenhouse produce shipped abroad. The lagoon, renowned for kitesurfing, draws international tourism, and the future Dakhla Atlantique port, under construction, opens new prospects.
These activities have two things in common: they often operate far from a good connection, at sea, in greenhouses or in a camp on the lagoon, and they sell a lot for export. Business software that stops as soon as the signal weakens has no place here.
Working far from everything: offline mode
SOGESTIO's web app, which can be installed on a computer, Android or iPhone, and the Android app keep working without a connection. You can view the company's data and create or edit customers, quotes, draft invoices, payments and expenses; everything syncs automatically when the network returns.
One rule protects your numbering: an invoice's legal number is never assigned on the device, but by the server at sync time. So even with several phones offline at once, invoices stay numbered in order, with no gaps or duplicates. If the same record was edited in two places, the user chooses which version to keep.
- View company data without a connection.
- Create and edit customers, quotes and draft invoices.
- Enter payments and expenses in the field.
- Automatic sync when the network returns.
- Legal numbers assigned by the server, never on the device.
Octopus, fish and shellfish: batches, warehouses and export
A packing unit buys every day from many fishermen or fish traders. Each delivery is recorded with a goods receipt, with its batch, at net purchase cost; each cold room is a warehouse, with transfers and stocktaking; each shipment takes stock out of the right batch. You can then trace where an exported package came from.
Invoices to importers go out in English, French or Arabic, with logo, ICE, IF, RC and bank details, and a QR code carrying the invoice data. Example: an export order of 250,000 DH with a 30% deposit gives a deposit invoice of 75,000 DH, then a balance of 175,000 DH. The VAT treatment of exports should be confirmed with your chartered accountant.
Greenhouse produce: a result per greenhouse or per season
A tomato or melon greenhouse farm commits heavy input purchases before each season and employs seasonal labour. On the Pro and Group plans, each greenhouse, plot or season can become a cost centre: invoices and expenses are assigned to it and SOGESTIO computes each one's result, showing what really pays.
The Human Resources module records seasonal contracts and alerts you before they end, and payroll produces payslips with CNSS, AMO and IR along with the DAMANCOM preparation file. The 13-week cash forecast helps finance the period between season purchases and the first receipts.
Lagoon tourism: camps, lodging and agencies
Kitesurf camps, lodges and excursion organisers often invoice foreign agencies and tour operators. SOGESTIO produces quotes and invoices in English, handles deposits and balances, and the client portal lets the agency accept a quote online and find its invoices. Cash takings go through petty cash, transfers through the Banking module.
SOGESTIO is neither booking software nor a cash register: it handles invoicing to businesses, purchasing, cash management, accounting and payroll for the establishment.
Online from anywhere, or installed on site
SOGESTIO has no office in Dakhla: it is an online service usable anywhere in Morocco, in Arabic, French or English, and setup is remote, with customers and items imported from Excel. The 14-day free trial needs no card.
For a business that wants a system with no dependence on the Internet at all, the On-premise edition is installed on its own server with the Windows installer: built-in database, Windows services, automatic backups, signed updates with automatic rollback on failure. A secure relay gives access from a phone outside the premises. The licence depends on the number of companies and users, quoted on request.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if the connection drops while entering data?
Nothing is lost: the app keeps working offline for customers, quotes, draft invoices, payments and expenses, and syncs automatically when the network returns.
Why does an invoice created offline not have a number yet?
Because the legal number is assigned by the server at sync time, never on the device. That is what guarantees continuous numbering, with no gaps or duplicates, even with several devices.
Two people edited the same customer offline: what happens?
At sync, SOGESTIO detects the concurrent change and the user chooses which version to keep. No change is silently overwritten.
Can we trace octopus batches through to export?
Yes. Each receipt creates or feeds a batch, each shipment records the batch shipped, and stock is tracked per cold room or warehouse.
Do we need a SOGESTIO office in Dakhla?
No. Everything is set up remotely and the subscription is paid by bank transfer. If you prefer a server on site, the On-premise edition is installed at your premises and runs without Internet.
