Kenitra: an industrial city in the middle of a farming plain

In just a few years, Kenitra has become a leading automotive hub. The Atlantic Free Zone hosts the Stellantis assembly plant, opened in 2019, and a network of suppliers: wire harnesses, seats, plastic injection, exhaust systems and glazing. Meanwhile the Gharb plain remains a major farming region, known in particular for berries, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries packed in packing houses and exported, as well as rice, sugar crops and citrus. This twin engine keeps logistics, transport, maintenance, catering and business service firms busy.

What these activities share is not the product but the workforce: large teams, different contract types, seasonal peaks and trial periods to monitor. When this information lives in a spreadsheet and in one manager's memory, oversights are costly: a fixed-term contract that runs on without a decision, a trial period that slips past, a disputed leave balance.

Employment contracts: CDI, CDD, ANAPEC, internships and temp work

The Human Resources module, included in the Pro and Group plans, records each contract with its type and dates. SOGESTIO alerts you before a contract or a trial period ends, leaving time to decide whether to renew, convert or end it. Leave requests and expense claims go through the same approval workflow as purchases.

Paid leave: a calculation rule applied without spreadsheets

The paid leave balance follows the usual statutory rule: 1.5 days per month of service, plus 1.5 days per 5-year block of seniority, capped at 30 days. Example: a line operator with 6 years of seniority earns 1.5 × 12 = 18 days over the year, plus 1.5 days for the first 5-year block, or 19.5 working days. A colleague with 11 years of seniority gets 18 + 3 = 21 days.

Because leave is counted in working days, an absence from Monday to Saturday counts as 6 days, unless a fixed-date public holiday falls in the period. The employee files a request, the manager validates it in the approval workflow, and the balance updates. For special cases such as collective agreements or internal arrangements, have your settings checked by your adviser or chartered accountant.

Payroll: payslips, DAMANCOM and the 9421 statement

The Payroll module produces payslips with CNSS, AMO, IR and seniority, posts the payroll accounting entry automatically and generates the DAMANCOM preparation file for the CNSS declaration, as well as the preparatory 9421 statement, an XML file to transfer into SIMPL-IR. For a workshop with dozens of operators, that is a lot of lines no longer re-keyed every month.

These files prepare the filings; final validation remains with the company or its accountant. Role-based rights keep sensitive data for authorised people, and the audit log records every change: who did what, and when.

Auto suppliers and berry packing houses: purchasing, batches and export

A tier-2 automotive supplier buys materials and components, receives, manufactures and delivers just in time. Purchase requests go through an approval workflow based on amount, goods receipts feed stock at net purchase cost, and batches and serial numbers keep track of what was delivered to which customer. Production orders consume components and book finished goods at real cost.

A berry packing house receives produce from several farms, stores it in cold rooms and ships it abroad. Each receipt is recorded by batch, so every shipment can be traced back to its grower. Invoices go out in English, French or Arabic; the VAT treatment of exports, like that of a company in a free zone, should be confirmed with your chartered accountant before setting the rates.

An online service for offices, workshops and shift supervisors

SOGESTIO has no office in Kenitra: it is an online service available anywhere in Morocco, in French, Arabic or English, and setup is remote, with customers, items and opening balances imported from Excel or CSV. A shift supervisor can validate a leave request or an expense claim from a phone, using the Android app or the web app installed on iPhone.
