Who needs an ERP installed on its own server?
For most small and mid-sized businesses, the cloud version of SOGESTIO remains the simplest choice. On-premise answers specific situations, where connection quality or data policy requires the software to stay on site.
Think of a quarry near Khenifra, a farm in the Gharb or a production unit in an industrial zone whose internet line keeps dropping: when invoicing, stock and payroll stop with the connection, the whole business waits.
- Poorly connected sites: quarries, farms, long-running building sites, remote industrial zones
- Companies whose internal policy requires data to stay on their premises
- Subcontractors whose principals set rules on where data is hosted
- Groups of several companies with an in-house IT team
- Organisations that want to run their own backups and updates
Cloud or On-premise: what is the practical difference?
With the cloud version, SOGESTIO is hosted for you: you sign in from a browser or the Android app and pay a monthly or annual subscription. With the On-premise version, the software runs on your machine: you manage the server, but nothing depends on your internet provider any more.
Before choosing, note that the cloud version also has an offline mode on devices: the installed web app and the Android app keep working without a signal and sync when the connection returns. If the problem is limited to a sales rep or a technician who is often out of coverage, the cloud version may be enough; if the whole site is poorly connected, On-premise is the better fit.
| Criterion | Cloud version | On-premise version |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | SOGESTIO online platform, nothing to install | Your server, on your premises (Windows installer or Docker) |
| Internet connection | Needed to sync; offline mode on devices | Not needed: runs on your local network |
| Updates | Applied by SOGESTIO on the platform | Signed package, automatic rollback if it fails |
| Backups | Data on the platform, Excel or CSV export available | Automatic backup on your server, to copy off-site |
| Mobile access | Anywhere: Android app and installable web app | Local network, plus outside access via a secure relay |
| Modules | Depending on the plan: Starter, Pro or Groupe | Every module, multi-company included |
| Pricing | 199, 449 or 990 DH/month excl. VAT, or annual billing | Licence based on companies and users, on quotation |
| Who it suits | Businesses that want to start fast, with no server | Poorly connected sites, on-site data policies, groups with IT staff |
Windows installation: one setup.exe with everything included
On a Windows server or PC, SOGESTIO installs with a standard installer (setup.exe). The database is built in, so there is no separate database server to install or configure. The software runs as Windows services, in the background, with no need to keep a user session open.
It can be installed on a single workstation, or on a server that the other computers on the local network reach through their browser. That is the usual set-up for a head office, a plant or a warehouse working on a network.
- Windows installer (setup.exe)
- Built-in database
- Windows services that start with the machine
- Single-workstation or local-network use
- Automatic backup
Backups and updates: what happens on your server
With On-premise, your data is on your premises, and so is its protection. SOGESTIO runs an automatic backup; your job is to copy those backups off the server regularly, to an external drive or a NAS, and to test a restore from time to time. A stolen server or a failed disk must never take your accounts with it.
Updates are delivered as signed packages: before installing, the server checks that the package really comes from SOGESTIO and has not been altered. If an update fails, the installation automatically rolls back to the previous version instead of leaving the software half updated.
Docker: the option for IT teams
Companies that already run containers can install SOGESTIO with Docker instead of the Windows installer. Backups are built in, and the IT team keeps control of the machine, the network and monitoring with its usual tools.
Both installation methods deliver the same software with the same modules: the choice depends on your infrastructure and your team's skills, not on the features you need.
Mobile access from outside through a secure relay
Software installed on your premises does not cut off your field teams. At the office, computers and phones connect to the server over the local network. Outside, a sales rep in Agadir or a site manager in Dakhla reaches the company server through a secure relay, using the Android app or the web app.
The data stays on your server. Without a connection, the mobile app keeps its offline mode and syncs with your server when the network returns.
On-premise licence: what is included and how it is priced
The On-premise version includes every SOGESTIO module: sales and invoicing, stock, purchasing, expenses and petty cash, banking, CGNC accounting, payroll, human resources, production, CRM and documents, plus multi-company management and consolidation. The licence is based on the number of companies and users and is quoted on request.
To explore the modules before asking for a quotation, you can start a 14-day free trial of the cloud version, with no bank card: it has the same modules.
Frequently asked questions
Does on-premise software really work without internet?
Yes. The server and workstations talk over your local network, so invoicing, stock, accounting and payroll keep running even when the internet line is down. Access from outside, through the secure relay, does require the server to be online.
What server do we need?
SOGESTIO does not publish a standard configuration, because the need depends on the number of companies, users and the volume of documents. The question is handled when you request a quotation, together with your IT lead.
Are the modules the same as in the cloud version?
Yes. On-premise includes every module, including multi-company management and consolidation, which are reserved for the Groupe plan in the cloud. You do not choose between Starter, Pro and Groupe: the licence sets the number of companies and users.
Who takes care of backups?
SOGESTIO runs an automatic backup on the server. It is up to you to copy those backups off the server and to check from time to time that a restore works. Without an off-site copy, a theft or a disk failure can wipe out everything.
How do updates work?
Each update is a signed package whose origin and integrity are checked before installation. If it fails, the software automatically rolls back to the previous version. You decide when to apply it.
How much does the On-premise version cost?
The On-premise licence is quoted on request, based on the number of companies and users. For reference, the cloud version costs 199 DH/month excl. VAT (Starter), 449 DH/month excl. VAT (Pro) or 990 DH/month excl. VAT (Groupe), about 17% less when paid annually.
