Oujda, capital of the Oriental and a trading crossroads
Oujda is the main city of eastern Morocco and the administrative, university and commercial centre of the Oriental region. Its economy rests largely on trade and services, complemented by the Oujda Technopole, which hosts industrial activities, food processing and an offshoring centre, Oujda Shore. Around the city, the Triffa plain and the Berkane agropole support an export-oriented citrus industry, the Saïdia resort draws seaside tourism, and the Nador West Med port, whose opening has been announced, promises new logistics flows for the whole region.
For an Oujda SME, one constraint keeps coming back: many suppliers are several hundred kilometres away, along the Casablanca-Tangier corridor. Buying at the right price, at the right time and in the right quantity matters everywhere; with longer transport lead times, an ordering mistake simply costs more than elsewhere.
Buy better: purchase requests, tenders and framework agreements
SOGESTIO includes advanced purchasing. A purchase request is raised by the department that needs it, then approved according to an amount threshold and a role. The buyer then runs a tender: several suppliers are consulted and their offers appear side by side in a comparison table.
Example: for 500 cartons, supplier A offers 118 DH excluding VAT delivered, or 59,000 DH; supplier B 112 DH plus 2,800 DH of transport, or 58,800 DH; supplier C 115 DH delivered with a shorter lead time, or 57,500 DH excluding VAT. The table makes these gaps visible before you order. With offer C, VAT at 20% comes to 11,500 DH and the order to 69,000 DH including VAT.
- Purchase requests validated against an amount threshold and a role.
- Several suppliers consulted, with a comparison table of offers.
- Framework agreements whose negotiated prices apply to orders.
- Supplier evaluation and rating.
- Matching of purchase order, goods receipt and supplier invoice.
Stock and replenishment when lead times are long
When restocking takes several days, minimum stock becomes a real management tool. A simple method sets the threshold at daily usage multiplied by delivery lead time, plus a safety margin: 30 units sold per day, a 5-day lead time and 50 units of safety stock give a threshold of 200 units. SOGESTIO alerts you as soon as an item falls below its threshold, and the dashboard lists stock below minimum.
Stock is managed per warehouse, with transfers and stocktaking, and valued at CMUP (weighted average cost) from goods receipts, which bring goods in at net purchase cost. The negative-stock rule prevents delivering an item that is not actually available.
Distribution across the Oriental: credit, cheques and LCN
Oujda wholesalers and distributors serve Berkane, Taourirt, Jerada, Guercif and Figuig, often with credit sales paid by cheque or bill of exchange. SOGESTIO sets a credit limit per customer, computes the due date from the payment terms (cash, 7 to 90 days or custom) and records each cheque or LCN with number, bank, due date and status.
The 13-week cash forecast sets these expected receipts against supplier due dates, and days sales outstanding (DSO) shows which customers pay late. Payment terms between businesses are regulated by law 69-21: have your terms checked by your chartered accountant.
Technopole, offshoring and services: clean invoicing and accounting
Technopole companies and the city's service providers, from engineering consultancies to IT, training and maintenance, often bill recurring services. Recurring invoices automate these subscriptions, and the client portal lets customers view their invoices and accept a quote online. Documents are issued in French, Arabic or English.
Accounting follows the CGNC chart of accounts, with journals, general ledger, trial balance, reconciliation and financial statements. VAT is filed on a cash or accrual basis, and the deductions statement exports as EDI XML for SIMPL-TVA. SOGESTIO also exports your validated invoices in the structured UBL 2.1 format (with ICE, IF and RC), which prepares the move to the e-invoicing announced by the DGI.
Far from Casablanca, close to your software
SOGESTIO has no office in Oujda: it is an online service usable anywhere in Morocco, and the whole setup is remote, with no waiting for a technician to travel. The interface works fully in right-to-left Arabic, or in French and English, as each user prefers. Sales reps and delivery staff work from the Android app or the web app installed on iPhone, and offline mode lets them enter customers, quotes and payments without signal, with automatic sync once the connection is back.
To keep its data on its own premises, a business can choose the On-premise edition, installed on its server through Docker or a Windows installer, which runs without Internet. The 14-day free trial needs no card, and the Pro plan, which includes purchasing, banking and accounting, costs 449 DH/month excluding VAT.
Frequently asked questions
Can we compare several Casablanca suppliers before ordering?
Yes. A tender consults several suppliers and shows their offers in a comparison table. The order then goes to the chosen supplier, and a framework agreement can lock in negotiated prices for later orders.
How do we avoid stock-outs when restocking takes days?
Set a minimum stock per item that accounts for the delivery lead time. SOGESTIO flags every item that falls below it, and the dashboard shows the list of stock below minimum.
Can an employee approve their own purchases?
No. Approval workflows validate requests by amount threshold and role, and nobody can approve their own request. Delegation is possible during an absence.
Our sales reps sometimes lose signal on the road: is that a problem?
No. The app keeps working offline to view data and enter customers, quotes, draft invoices and payments. Everything syncs when the network returns, and legal invoice numbers are assigned by the server at that point.
Is there a SOGESTIO representative in Oujda?
No. SOGESTIO has no local office or representative: sign-up, setup and Excel imports are done online, and the subscription is paid by bank transfer after the 14-day free trial.
